Washington High School Baseball - Hazen loses to Sammamish
March 26, 2012: Bellevue, WA 98005 The Sammamish Totems the visiting Hazen Highlanders baseball team by a count of 6-1 in Monday's non-league bout.
The Totems now possess a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Lake Washington for a 2A/3A KingCo bout on Monday, April 2.
Next, the Highlanders face the Tyee Totems (SeaTac, WA) in a 2A/3A Seamount bout, on Friday, March 30. Hazen will attempt to move on its 4-2 season record.
Game Summary
Hazen scores first with 1RS in the 3rd inning, Eric Jacobs lead-off walk, moved over to 3b with SAC-Bunt from Jared Howell, then RBI-SFO-F8 by Jimmy Schmidt, Hazen leads briefly 1-0. That was the only offensive highlight for the Highlanders. The 3rd inning started with the first 3 batters getting TOBs and filling it up bases loaded. But the rally was snuffed out by 2 baserunning errors, PO 6-5 to get Kyle Arinobu out and then a PO 1-5 to get Jared out at 3B after the SFO-RS. Sammamish scores first in the bottom of the 3rd with a DTS-K who comes around to score after a E1-T moves him into scoring position, and then a rbi-double gets him home RS. They score 2RS in the 4th, 2 singles sandwich a FC, with 2 PBs, and a rbi-single gets 2 RS. Totems now lead 3-1. Another unearned RS in the 5th with an E8-G, fielder drops the ball after a good run to the ball in the gap. Comes home to RS on another E3G drop. Totems lead 4-1. They score 2 more RS in the 6th with 2 singles in the 7th.
