Minnesota High School Baseball - Park Center loses to Centennial
April 14, 2010: Circle Pines, MN 55014 The Centennial Cougars baseball team scored 7 points and limited the visiting Park Center Pirates to 2 in the Cougars league victory on Wednesday.
The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Monticello (Monticello, MN). The Magic go into the non-league match with a 1-2 record. In their last match, Monticello tipped Becker (Becker, MN), 6-2, in a league match.
The Pirates (0-2) will now prepare for their match against Andover (Andover, MN). The Huskies go into the Northwest Suburban match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Andover was overwhelmed by Osseo (Osseo, MN), 12-0, in a league match.
Game Summary
The Pirates broke out to an early 2-run lead in the 2nd. The lead would not last long, though, as the Cougars came storming back with three runs of their own in the bottom half, including a home run from Chris Anderson. The pitchers battled to keep the game close, holding at 4-2 until Centennial's rally in the fifth inning brought three more runs. The Pirates failed to rally down the stretch and the game ended 7-2. Anderson (2-2, 2B, HR, 4rbi) and Jake Schultz (2-3, 2B) led the Cougars and Pirates, respectively, on offense, while Bryan Billadeau and Jake Kosak shared the pitching duties for Centennial in holding Park Center to two runs.
