Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Hempfield Area holds off Penn-Trafford
January 29, 2013: Harrison City, PA 15636 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA) and the host Penn-Trafford Warriors (Harrison City, PA), saw Hempfield Area's basketball squad hold off Penn-Trafford by a score of 51-46.
With the victory, Hempfield Area improves its record to 16-2 on the campaign. The Spartans host Kiski Area (Vandergrift, PA) to play the Cavaliers in a WPIAL AAAA 1 challenge on Thursday, January 31. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 5-13. Kiski Area won 39-28 in their recent league challenge against Connellsville (Connellsville, PA)
Next up, the Warriors play the Franklin Regional Panthers (Murrysville, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 30. Penn-Trafford will attempt to improve on its 14-3 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 8-10 record after their 70-54 league loss to Gateway (Monroeville, PA).
