West Virginia High School Basketball - Webster County knocked off by James Monroe
January 7, 2023: Lindside, WV 24951 The James Monroe Mavericks basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Webster County Highlanders to 59 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Mavericks now sport a 8-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Greenbrier West for a Coalfield A contest on Tuesday, January 10. James Monroe will meet a Cavaliers team coming off a 63-55 non-league loss to Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-5.
The Highlanders (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Braxton County (Sutton, WV). The Eagles enter the Little Kanawha - East contest with a 5-4 record. In their last contest, Braxton County ran past Notre Dame (Clarksburg, WV), 68-61, in a non-league contest.
