January 20, 2023: Riner, VA 24149 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) and the host Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA), saw George Wythe's basketball squad wallop Auburn by a tally of 41-15.
With the victory, George Wythe improves its record to 11-0 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to Galax (Galax, VA) to confront the Maroon Tide in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Maroon Tide come into the challenge with a record of 8-5. Galax lost 41-20 in their recent non-league challenge against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Auburn will attempt to improve on its 3-12 season record. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 41-29 non-league loss to Giles (Pearisburg, VA).
