Virginia High School Basketball - Salem holds off Northside
February 1, 2014: Salem, VA 24153 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) and the visiting Northside Vikings (Roanoke, VA), saw Salem's basketball squad hold off Northside by a tally of 53-49.
With the victory, Salem improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA) to confront the Titans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 4. The Titans come into the challenge with a record of 5-12. Hidden Valley lost 61-59 in their recent non-league challenge against Byrd (Vinton, VA)
Next up, the Vikings confront the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers (Daleville, VA) in a 3A Conference 31 challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Northside will attempt to improve on its 4-13 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 14-1 record after their 71-53 league win over Alleghany (Covington, VA).
