Washington High School Baseball - Highline can't hold off Hazen
April 24, 2012: Renton, WA 98059 The Hazen Highlanders baseball team scored 2 runs and limited the visiting Highline Pirates to 1 in the Highlanders league victory on Tuesday.
The Highlanders (11-5) will now prepare for their match against Foster (Tukwila, WA). The Bulldogs go into the 2A/3A Seamount match with a 5-9 record. In their last match, Foster tipped Renton (Renton, WA), 10-2, in a league match.
The Pirates (9-4) will now prepare for their match against Tyee (SeaTac, WA). The Totems go into the 2A/3A Seamount match with a 2-10 record. In their last match, Tyee was edged by Hazen (Renton, WA), 16-6, in a league match.
Game Summary
Highline scored first with one run in top of first with a single and scored on
an overthrow from RF to home plate UER. Game stayed at Highline at 1-0 lead
until the bottom of the 5th. Jimmy schmidt gets lead off single then came home
to score hazens first RS when Kyle Arinobu hit game tying RBI single. In the
bottom of the 7th, in their last AB, jimmy Schmidt gets a lead off double, came
home when Kyle Nelson hit the GW-RBI single to drive jimmy Schmidt home to score
the winning RS. Jimmy schmidt gets the CG win pitching 7 innings, giving up
just one UER.
