California High School Basketball - Peninsula can't hold off Cardinal Newman
December 29, 2021: Santa Rosa, CA 95403 The Cardinal Newman Cardinals basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Peninsula Panthers to 50 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Cardinals now sport a 10-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lincoln for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 30. Cardinal Newman will battle a Trojans team coming off a 48-41 non-league win over Mater Dei Catholic (Chula Vista, CA). The Trojans record now stands at 9-3.
The Panthers (9-6) will now prepare for their contest against Whitney (Rocklin, CA). The Wildcats enter the non-league contest with a 11-5 record. In their last contest, Whitney nudged Poway (Poway, CA), 46-43, in a non-league contest.
