In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Hope Christian Huskies (Albuquerque, NM), by a margin of 18-7.

With the triumph, Highland moves its record to 1-14 on the year. The Hornets host Valencia (Los Lunas, NM) to play the Jaguars in a 4A District 5 contest on Thursday, April 7. The Jaguars come into the contest with a record of 4-11. Valencia won 15-0 in their recent league contest against Grants (Grants, NM)

In their next game, the Huskies play the Del Norte Knights (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 6 contest, on Friday, April 8. Hope Christian will attempt to move on its 0-5 season record. The Knights come into the contest with a 2-15 record after their 16-1 league loss to Valley (Albuquerque, NM).
