Mountain View Toros (Mesa, AZ) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Highland Hawks (Gilbert, AZ), 61-57 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mountain View upgrades its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Toros host Gilbert (Gilbert, AZ) to play the Tigers in a 5A Central bout on Tuesday, January 11. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 6-8. Gilbert lost 74-60 in their recent league bout against Mesquite (Gilbert, AZ)

Next up, the Hawks play the Dobson Mustangs (Mesa, AZ) in a 5A Central bout, on Tuesday, January 11. Highland will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 67-57 league win over Basha (Chandler, AZ).
