Decatur Central Hawks (Indianapolis, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Westfield Shamrocks (Westfield, IN), 7-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now sport a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lawrence Central for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 17. Decatur Central will face a Bears squad coming off a 15-0 non-league loss to Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter (Indianapolis, IN). The Bears record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, Westfield falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Shamrocks travel to Fishers (Fishers, IN) to face the Tigers in a Hoosier Crossroads challenge on Tuesday, April 20. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 6-3. Fishers won 13-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Lawrence North (Indianapolis, IN)
