In Wednesday's league outing, the Laguna Creek Cardinals (Elk Grove, CA) basketball squad beat the host McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA), by a count of 72-61.

The Cardinals (22-5) will now prepare for their outing against Kennedy (Sacramento, CA). The Cougars go into the Metropolitan Conference outing with a 8-15 record. In their last outing, Kennedy was topped by Grant (Sacramento, CA), 81-43, in a league outing.

The Lions now hold a 12-11 record. They play next when they travel to River City for a Metropolitan Conference outing on Friday, February 10. McClatchy will clash with a Raiders squad coming off a 73-58 league loss to Burbank (Sacramento, CA). The Raiders record now stands at 4-22.
