Illinois High School Basketball - Marquette nips Seneca
January 6, 2018: Seneca, IL 61360 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL) and the host Seneca Fighting Irish (Seneca, IL), saw Marquette's basketball squad hold off Seneca by a count of 46-39.
With the victory, Marquette upgrades its record to 14-2 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to St. Bede (Peru, IL) to play the Bruins in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 10. The Bruins come into the challenge with a record of 3-14. St. Bede lost 54-30 in their recent league challenge against Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL)
Next up, the Fighting Irish play the Westmont Sentinels (Westmont, IL) in a Interstate Eight challenge, on Thursday, January 11. Seneca will attempt to upgrade on its 10-7 season record. The Sentinels come into the challenge with a 6-14 record after their 45-35 league loss to Herscher (Herscher, IL).
