In Saturday's non-league outing, the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) basketball squad felled the host Choctaw Central Warriors (Philadelphia, MS), by a margin of 58-47.

The Trojans (11-3) will now prepare for their outing against Saltillo (Saltillo, MS). The Tigers go into the 5A Region 1 outing with a 17-2 record. In their last outing, Saltillo thwarted Shannon (Shannon, MS), 52-46, in a non-league outing.

The Warriors now own a 16-2 record. They play next when they host Leake Central for a 4A Region 4 outing on Tuesday, January 11.
