South Carolina High School Volleyball - Catawba Ridge over Fort Mill
October 7, 2021: Fort Mill, SC 29715 The Catawba Ridge Copperheads prevailed the visiting Fort Mill Yellowjackets volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Copperheads now have a 21-8 record.
The Yellowjackets (15-7) will now prepare for their test against Boiling Springs (Spartanburg, SC). The Bulldogs enter the AAAAA Region III test with a 16-11 record. In their last test, Boiling Springs dropped by Nation Ford (Fort Mill, SC), 3-2, in a league test.
Match Summary
Catawba had their student section reprimanded 3 times for yelling obscenities' to our players, had a unauthorized mascot kicked out and danced to a song they hated just to be poor sportsman.
The falsified information from the previous author takes away from what really matters in high school sports. I would like to focus on those athletes who earned this win. Catawba Ridge Volleyball players played lights out. Motivation driven from the previous match against the yellow jackets earlier in the season. Congratulations to the copperheads for a well fought and focused victory. The team was led by Katie Lammers, Marissa Fakes, Kendall Grahl, Janelle Ilacqua, Kasey Long, Briley Williamson, Ella Hudgins, Grace Smith. Well done seniors for ensuring our last regular season win was a decisive one.
