Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD) fans went home thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds (Wolsey, SD), 3-1 in a non-league game.

The Wildcats now have a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Douglas for a non-league game on Saturday, August 26. Northwestern Area will meet a Patriots team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Rapid City Christian (Rapid City, SD). The Patriots record now stands at 1-1.

The Warbirds (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Warner (Warner, SD). The Monarchs enter the non-league game with a 5-0 record. In their last game, Warner gained a win over Parkston (Parkston, SD), 2-1, in a non-league game.
