The Saraland Spartans basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs to 40 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Spartans now sport a 5-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rain for a 6A Area 1 contest on Tuesday, January 3.

The Bulldogs (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Chelsea (Chelsea, AL). The Hornets enter the non-league contest with a 10-4 record. In their last contest, Chelsea nudged Southside (Gadsden, AL), 58-31, in a non-league contest.
