The Phoenix Pirates basketball team scored 34 points and held the visiting Ashland Grizzlies to 25 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Pirates now sport a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Etna for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 14. Phoenix will meet a Lions team coming off a 45-44 non-league loss to St. Bernard's (Eureka, CA). The Lions record now stands at 4-4.

The Grizzlies (0-3) will now prepare for their contest against North Bend (North Bend, OR). The Bulldogs enter the 5A Midwestern contest with a 4-0 record.
