Illinois High School Basketball - Belleville East holds off Belleville West
January 21, 2023: Belleville, IL 62221 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) and the visiting Belleville West Maroons (Belleville, IL), saw Belleville East's basketball squad hold off Belleville West by a tally of 57-52.
With the victory, Belleville East improves its record to 20-3 on the campaign. The Lancers host Granite City (Granite City, IL) to confront the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 26. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 12-10. Granite City lost 59-52 in their recent non-league challenge against Cahokia (Cahokia, IL)
Next up, the Maroons confront the Collinsville Kahoks (Collinsville, IL) in a Southwestern challenge, on Friday, January 27. Belleville West will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Kahoks come into the challenge with a 15-9 record after their 46-43 non-league loss to Highland (Highland, IL).
