John Paul II Cardinals (Plano, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Bishop Dunne Falcons (Dallas, TX), 43-42 in a league bout.

With the win, John Paul II upgrades its record to 14-11 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Bishop Lynch (Dallas, TX) to play the Friars in a TAPPS 5A District 1 bout on Friday, January 29. The Friars go into the bout with a record of 18-6. Bishop Lynch lost 57-41 in their recent league bout against Nolan Catholic (Fort Worth, TX)

Next up, the Falcons play the Trinity Christian Trojans (Addison, TX) in a TAPPS 5A District 1 bout, on Friday, January 29. Bishop Dunne will attempt to upgrade on its 17-8 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 12-15 record after their 83-51 league win over Faith Christian (Grapevine, TX).
