In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Copper Canyon Aztecs (Glendale, AZ) basketball squad walloped the visiting La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ), by a count of 71-39.

With the win, Copper Canyon upgrades its record to 15-7 on the season. The Aztecs travel to Verrado (Buckeye, AZ) to play the Vipers in a II Section II bout on Thursday, January 19. The Vipers go into the bout with a record of 10-6. Verrado won 73-64 in their recent league bout against Shadow Ridge (Surprise, AZ)

Next up, the Fighting Lobos play the Agua Fria Owls (Avondale, AZ) in a II Section III bout, on Friday, January 20. La Joya Community will attempt to upgrade on its 1-14 season record.
