February 4, 2011: Bridgeport, CT 06604 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT) and the host Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars (Bridgeport, CT), saw Pomperaug's basketball squad hold off Kolbe-Cathedral by a score of 57-54.
With the victory, Pomperaug improves its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Masuk (Monroe, CT) to battle the Panthers in a Southwest - Colonial challenge on Monday, February 7. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 8-1. Masuk lost 57-50 in their recent league challenge against Notre Dame Catholic (Fairfield, CT)
Next up, the Cougars battle the Oxford Wolverines (Oxford, CT) in a Southwest - Patriot challenge, on Tuesday, February 8. Kolbe-Cathedral will attempt to improve on its 6-5 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 0-11 record after their 73-49 non-league loss to Bunnell (Stratford, CT).
