Illinois High School Softball - Brown County holds off Augusta Southeastern
May 3, 2023: Augusta, IL 62311 Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Augusta Southeastern Suns (Augusta, IL), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.
The Hornets now sport a 22-8 record. They take the field next when they host Camp Point Central for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 4. Brown County will face a Panthers squad coming off a 9-3 league loss to Quincy Notre Dame (Quincy, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 7-16.
With the loss, Augusta Southeastern moves to 4-13 on the season. The Suns host Camp Point Central (Camp Point, IL) to meet the Panthers in a West Central battle on Friday, May 5. The Panthers go into the battle with a record of 7-17. Camp Point Central lost 3-2 in their recent non-league battle against Brown County (Mt. Sterling, IL)
