Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), 61-23 in a league bout.

With the win, Vandalia upgrades its record to 21-10 on the season.

Next up, the Piasa Birds clash with the Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 11. Southwestern will attempt to upgrade on its 4-22 season record. The Miners go into the bout with a 16-15 record after their 51-30 league loss to Pana (Pana, IL).
