In Thursday's non-league match, the host Huron Chiefs football squad scored a close 22-18 victory over the Avondale Yellowjackets.

In their next game, the Chiefs clash with the Will Carleton Academy Cougars (Hillsdale, MI) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 2. Huron will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.
