Avon Lake Shoremen (Avon Lake, OH) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Steele Comets (Amherst, OH), 38-26 in a league bout.

With the victory, Avon Lake upgrades its record to 10-2 on the campaign. The Shoremen travel to Elyria (Elyria, OH) to play the Pioneers in a Southwestern bout on Wednesday, January 10. The Pioneers come into the bout with a record of 3-8.

Next up, the Comets play the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs (Olmsted Falls, OH) in a Southwestern bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Steele will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 49-27 league win over Avon (Avon, OH).
