South Carolina High School Basketball - Whale Branch can't hold off McCormick
December 22, 2021: McCormick, SC 29835 The McCormick Chiefs basketball team scored 34 points and held the visiting Whale Branch Warriors to 33 in the Chiefs non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Chiefs now sport a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Laurens for a non-league contest on Monday, December 27. McCormick will battle a Raiders team coming off a 44-30 non-league loss to Rock Hill (Rock Hill, SC). The Raiders record now stands at 5-8.
The Warriors (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against St. John's (John's Island, SC). The Islanders enter the A Region 7 contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, St. John's was nudged by Baptist Hill (Hollywood, SC), 77-52, in a league contest.
