Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Brophy College Prep Broncos (Phoenix, AZ), 55-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Desert Vista upgrades its record to 16-5 on the season. The Thunder travel to Red Mountain (Mesa, AZ) to play the Mountain Lions in a 5A Fiesta bout on Tuesday, January 25. The Mountain Lions go into the bout with a record of 8-12. Red Mountain won 67-60 in their recent league bout against Hamilton (Chandler, AZ)

Next up, the Broncos play the St. Mary's Knights (Phoenix, AZ) in a 5A Desert Valley bout, on Saturday, January 22. Brophy College Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 12-6 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 8-10 record after their 74-71 league win over Pinnacle (Phoenix, AZ).
