South Dakota High School Basketball - Avon tops Burke
January 25, 2022: Burke, SD 57523 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Avon Pirates (Avon, SD) and the host Burke Cougars (Burke, SD), saw Avon's basketball squad knock off Burke by a tally of 53-35.
With the victory, Avon improves its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Kimball/White Lake (Kimball, SD) to play the Wildkats in a B Region 6 challenge on Saturday, January 29. The Wildkats come into the challenge with a record of 2-10. Kimball/White Lake lost 62-54 in their recent non-league challenge against Bon Homme (Tyndall, SD)
Next up, the Cougars play the Boyd County Spartans (Spencer, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 27. Burke will attempt to improve on its 5-9 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 4-12 record after their 57-19 non-league win over Colome (Colome, SD).
