New York High School Baseball - St. Francis loses to St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute
May 13, 2024: Hamburg, NY 14010 The St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders baseball team scored 4 runs and limited the host St. Francis Red Raiders to 0 in the Marauders league victory on Monday.
The Marauders (12-9) will now prepare for their match against Bishop Timon-St. Jude (Buffalo, NY). The Tigers go into the Monsignor Martin match with a 2-10 record. In their last match, Bishop Timon-St. Jude was overwhelmed by Nichols (Buffalo, NY), 10-1, in a league match.
The Red Raiders (9-9) will now prepare for their match against St. Mary's (Lancaster, NY). The Lancers go into the Monsignor Martin match with a 8-3 record. In their last match, St. Mary's edged Cardinal O'Hara (Tonawanda, NY), 3-2, in a league match.
Game Summary
St. Joe's used a strong pitching performance from Patrick Beyer and Bryce Cureo to carry them to a 4-0 win. Beyer went 5 innings giving up 2 hits while striking out 7. Cureo came on to throw the last 2 innings striking out 6 batters. On the offensive side, Andrew Macre had 2 hits and an RBI, Sean Connor had a 2-run double as well. Bryce Mucica had an RBI single to get the scoring started and Travis Greco had 3 walks and 3 runs scored.
