In Friday's non-league match, the host Pottsville Crimson Tide basketball team scored a tight 32-31 triumph over the Shamokin Area Indians.

In their next game, the Crimson Tide meet the Berks Catholic Saints (Reading, PA) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, January 3. Pottsville will attempt to better on its 6-3 season record. The Saints enter the match with a 8-0 record after their 58-50 non-league win over Pharos Academy (Bronx, NY).

With the defeat, Shamokin Area moves to 5-2 on the year. The Indians travel to Jersey Shore (Jersey Shore, PA) to meet the Bulldogs in a Heartland I match on Wednesday, January 4. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 2-2.
