Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Benton Rangers (Benton, IL) and the visiting Fairfield Mules (Fairfield, IL), saw Benton's basketball squad hold off Fairfield by a tally of 50-47.

With the victory, Benton improves its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Rangers travel to Vandalia (Vandalia, IL) to confront the Vandals in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 18. The Vandals come into the challenge with a record of 8-7.

Next up, the Mules confront the Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Fairfield will attempt to improve on its 6-10 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 13-2 record after their 70-54 league win over Marshall (Marshall, IL).
