Alabama High School Basketball - Barbour County holds off Abbeville
January 20, 2023: Abbeville, AL 36310 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Barbour County Jaguars (Clayton, AL) and the host Abbeville Yellowjackets (Abbeville, AL), saw Barbour County's basketball squad hold off Abbeville by a tally of 81-76.
With the victory, Barbour County improves its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Ariton (Ariton, AL) to confront the Purple Cats in a 2A Area 3 challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Purple Cats come into the challenge with a record of 14-7. Ariton won 58-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Northside Methodist Academy (Dothan, AL)
Next up, the Yellowjackets confront the Long Rebels (Skipperville, AL) in a 2A Area 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Abbeville will attempt to improve on its 13-8 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 5-15 record after their 63-46 non-league loss to Carroll (Ozark, AL).
