January 18, 2019: Covington, GA 30014

Newton Rams (Covington, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting South Gwinnett Comets (Snellville, GA), 49-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Newton upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Rams host Morgan County (Madison, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 19. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 18-1. Morgan County won 62-36 in their recent league bout against East Jackson (Commerce, GA)

Next up, the Comets play the Archer Tigers (Lawrenceville, GA) in a AAAAAAA Region 8 bout, on Friday, January 25. South Gwinnett will attempt to upgrade on its 13-9 season record.
