Michigan High School Basketball - Newaygo fells Union
December 23, 2023: Grand Rapids, MI 49504 Newaygo Lions (Newaygo, MI) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Union Red Hawks (Grand Rapids, MI), 39-25 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Newaygo upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Lions host Ravenna (Ravenna, MI) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 10. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-3.
Next up, the Red Hawks confront the Zeeland East Chix (Zeeland, MI) in a Ottawa-Kent - Green challenge, on Friday, January 5. Union will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Chix come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 67-60 non-league loss to Forest Hills Northern (Grand Rapids, MI).
