Georgia High School Basketball - Athens Christian nips Greene County
December 6, 2016: Athens, GA 30601 Athens Christian Eagles (Athens, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Greene County Tigers (Greensboro, GA), 41-39 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Athens Christian upgrades its record to 1-2 on the season. The Eagles travel to George Walton Academy (Monroe, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a A Region 8 bout on Friday, December 9. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 4-0. George Walton Academy won 44-37 in their recent non-league bout against Social Circle (Social Circle, GA)
Next up, the Tigers play the Aquinas Fightin' Irish (Augusta, GA) in a A Region 7 bout, on Friday, December 9. Greene County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Fightin' Irish go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 46-23 league win over Lake Oconee Academy (Greensboro, GA).
