Illinois High School Basketball - Hillsboro holds off Southwestern
February 13, 2024: Hillsboro, IL 62049 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) and the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), saw Hillsboro's basketball squad hold off Southwestern by a tally of 49-43.
With the victory, Hillsboro improves its record to 11-19 on the campaign. The Hiltoppers travel to Greenville (Greenville, IL) to confront the Comets in a South Central challenge on Thursday, February 15. The Comets come into the challenge with a record of 21-8. Greenville won 59-33 in their recent league challenge against Carlinville (Carlinville, IL)
Next up, the Piasa Birds confront the Litchfield Purple Panthers (Litchfield, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Thursday, February 15. Southwestern will attempt to improve on its 19-11 season record. The Purple Panthers come into the challenge with a 19-11 record after their 50-46 league loss to North Mac (Virden, IL).
