North Carolina High School Basketball - Mount Pleasant overwhelmed by Monroe
January 12, 2017: Monroe, NC 28112 The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Mount Pleasant Tigers to 20 in the Redhawks league victory on Thursday.
The Redhawks now sport a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Parkwood for a Rocky River 2A contest on Friday, January 13. Monroe will battle a Rebels team coming off a 81-42 league win over Forest Hills (Marshville, NC). The Rebels record now stands at 10-5.
The Tigers (7-9) will now prepare for their contest against Central Academy of Technology and Arts (Monroe, NC). The Cougars come into the Rocky River 2A contest with a 1-9 record. In their last contest, Central Academy of Technology and Arts was routed by Central (Pageland, SC), 41-15, in a non-league contest.
