January 11, 2012: Danbury, NC 27016 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the North Stokes (Danbury, NC) and the visiting Rockingham County Cougars (Wentworth, NC), saw North Stokes's basketball squad knock off Rockingham County by a score of 57-44.
With the victory, North Stokes improves its record to 5-10 on the campaign. The host South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC) to battle the Sauras in a 2A/1A Northwest challenge on Friday, January 13. The Sauras come into the challenge with a record of 5-6. South Stokes won 67-55 in their recent league challenge against Surry Central (Dobson, NC)
Next up, the Cougars battle the Eastern Alamance Eagles (Mebane, NC) in a 3A Mid-State challenge, on Friday, January 13. Rockingham County will attempt to improve on its 1-11 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 53-43 league loss to Eastern Guilford (Gibsonville, NC).
