Utah High School Basketball - Lehi knocked off by Lone Peak
February 15, 2013: Lehi, UT 84043 The Lone Peak Knights basketball team scored 90 points and held the host Lehi Pioneers to 71 in the Knights league triumph on Friday.
The Knights now sport a 21-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bingham for a 5A Region 4 contest on Tuesday, February 19. Lone Peak will battle a Miners team coming off a 53-36 league loss to American Fork (American Fork, UT). The Miners record now stands at 14-8.
The Pioneers (6-15) will now prepare for their contest against Riverton (Riverton, UT). The Silverwolves enter the 5A Region 4 contest with a 10-11 record. In their last contest, Riverton ran past Pleasant Grove (Pleasant Grove, UT), 65-61, in a league contest.
First Quarter
Lone Peak scored 28 points in the first quarter with 5 players scoring in the period. Frank Jackson lead Lehi scoring 6 of their 17 first quarter points.
Second Quarter
Lone Peak increased the lead by 4 points in the second quarter. The score at the end of the first half is Lone Peak 47 and Lehi 32.
Third Quarter
Lehi had 6 differenty players score in the third quarter scoring 22 points. Lone Peak scored 25 in the quarter. The score at the end of the third period is Lone Peak 72 and Lehi 54.
Fourth Quarter
Lehi freshman Frank Jackson scored 11 points in the last quarter as Lehi scored 17 points. Lone Peak scored 18 and the final is Lone Peak 90 and Lehi 71. Lehi fought hard against the # 1 team in the country.
