Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Emporia Spartans (Emporia, KS), 46-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Washburn Rural upgrades its record to 4-8 on the campaign. The Blues travel to Manhattan (Manhattan, KS) to play the Indians in a Centennial bout on Friday, February 12. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 13-2. Manhattan lost 76-69 in their recent league bout against Shawnee Heights (Tecumseh, KS)
