April 12, 2011: Orange, CA 92867 Orange Lutheran Lancers (Orange, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting JSerra Catholic Lions (San Juan Capistrano, CA), 3-0 in a league challenge.
The Lancers now own a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Murrieta Valley for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 14. Orange Lutheran will face a Nighthawks squad coming off a 14-4 league loss to Chaparral (Temecula, CA). The Nighthawks record now stands at 6-7.
With the loss, JSerra Catholic falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Lions host Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) to clash with the Monarchs in a Trinity game on Friday, April 15. The Monarchs come into the game with a record of 9-9. Mater Dei lost 10-2 in their recent league game against Rosary (Fullerton, CA)
Game Summary
Savannah King pitched a complete game shutout, giving up only 2 hits to the visiting JSerra Lions. With the win, Orange Lutheran goes to 12-2 and 3-0 in league. King improves her record to 5-1. Leading the Lancers offensively were Madison Osias with a triple and a single, Jade Vecvanags with a double and a homerun, Savannah King with a single and a triple and Heather Hall with three singles. Orange Lutheran will play Murrieta Valley and Canyon on Thursday in pool play of the Michelle Carew Classic.
