In Friday's league match, the visiting Canton Academy Panthers football squad scored a big 42-0 victory over the Central Holmes Christian Trojans.

In their next game, the Panthers clash with the Benton Academy Raiders (Benton, MS) in a MAIS A-AA District 3 match, on Friday, October 2. Canton Academy will attempt to move on its 4-2 season record. The Raiders enter the match with a 4-1 record after their 49-14 non-league win over Heidelberg Academy (Heidelberg, MS).
