Texas High School Football - Columbus held off by Smithville

Smithville Tigers (Smithville, TX) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team nip the host Columbus Cardinals (Columbus, TX), 42-40 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Smithville improves its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Navasota (Navasota, TX) to battle the Rattlers in a 4A-2 Region IV District 13 test on Friday, October 8. The Rattlers come into the test with a record of 2-3. Navasota lost 28-20 in their recent non-league test against Yoakum (Yoakum, TX)

With the loss, Columbus drops to 3-2 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Hitchcock (Hitchcock, TX) to battle the Bulldogs in a 3A-1 Region III District 12 test on Friday, October 8. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 2-2.
