In Friday's league match, the host Valley Union Blue Devils football squad scored a close 50-48 victory over the Baboquivari Warriors.

In their next game, the Blue Devils clash with the Anthem Prep Eagles (Anthem, AZ) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 8. Valley Union will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Eagles enter the match with a 2-1 record after their 49-13 non-league win over North Phoenix Preparatory Academy (Phoenix, AZ).
