New Salem Holsteins (New Salem, ND) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Center-Stanton Wildcats (Center, ND), 51-34 in a league bout.

With the victory, New Salem upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Holsteins travel to Beach (Beach, ND) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a record of 3-9. Beach lost 83-26 in their recent league bout against Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Rhame] (Bowman, ND)

Next up, the Wildcats play the White Shield Warriors (Roseglen, ND) in a B District 6 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Center-Stanton will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 7-9 record after their 57-47 non-league loss to Powers Lake/Burke Central (Powers Lake, ND).
