Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Mercersburg Academy nips Gerstell Academy
January 24, 2023: Mercersburg, PA 17236 Mercersburg Academy Blue Storm (Mercersburg, PA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Gerstell Academy (Finksburg, MD), 64-57 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Mercersburg Academy upgrades its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Blue Storm travel to Peddie (Hightstown, NJ) to play the Falcons in a Mid-Atlantic Prep A bout on Saturday, January 28. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 5-5. Peddie won 84-79 in their recent non-league bout against Pennington (Pennington, NJ)
Next up, the play the Indian Creek Eagles (Crownsville, MD) in a MIAA B bout, on Friday, January 27. Gerstell Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 12-13 record after their 56-38 non-league win over Friends (Baltimore, MD).
