The Morgan Eagles basketball team scored 39 points and held the visiting Covington Owls to 23 in the Eagles league triumph on Tuesday.

The Eagles now sport a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Aquilla for a 1A Region IV District 25 contest on Friday, January 11. Morgan will battle a Cougars team coming off a 55-11 league win over Kopperl (Kopperl, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 4-4.

The Owls (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against Iredell (Iredell, TX). The Dragons enter the 1A Region IV District 25 contest with a 15-5 record.
