Briggsdale Falcons (Briggsdale, CO) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Akron Rams (Akron, CO), 42-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Briggsdale upgrades its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Weldon Valley (Weldona, CO) to play the Warriors in a 1A North Central bout on Saturday, January 13. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 2-5. Weldon Valley lost 53-39 in their recent non-league bout against Caliche (Iliff, CO)

Next up, the Rams play the Wray Eagles (Wray, CO) in a 3A/2A Lower Platte bout, on Friday, January 12. Akron will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 60-27 non-league loss to Burlington (Burlington, CO).
