West Virginia High School Baseball - Nicholas County defeats Clay County
May 12, 2021: Clay, WV 25043 Spectators at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV) and the host Clay County Panthers (Clay, WV), saw Nicholas County's baseball squad beat Clay County by a margin of 7-1.
Coming up next, the Grizzlies play the Liberty Raiders (Glen Daniel, WV) in a Coalfield AA battle, on Friday, May 14. Nicholas County will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record. The Raiders enter the battle with a 0-4 record after their 7-6 non-league loss to WestSide (Clear Fork, WV).
The Panthers now sport a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Braxton County for a Little Kanawha battle on Friday, May 14. Clay County will play a Eagles squad coming off a 20-8 league win over Webster County (Upper Glade, WV). The Eagles record now stands at 5-4.
